MEET THE RESIDENT: ALESSIA RUSSO, RIVER SOUTH

Alessia Russo bought the last available residence at River South, the Brickhaus luxury townhome community in Fairview Park. It was the model home, so it was ready for her to move into immediately. She considers herself lucky. She had been looking around for a place to buy, when her father found it. “The location is great; it’s close to everything,” she says. Built on the bluff overlooking the Rocky River Reservation of the Metroparks, River South residents have a direct path down into the park right across the street. Alessia loves the outdoors, and that access to the Metroparks was a huge selling point.
“I love all the windows; there is so much natural light all day long,” she says. The balcony door is open whenever she is home because her cat, Agnes, likes to sit outside! Alessia favors a simple, modern and neutral décor. She added contrast and visual interest by painting an accent wall in the great room a deep maroon. A charming old rehabbed radio cabinet is used as a bar and is a real standout piece. Upstairs in her bedroom, she painted one wall a lovely sage green. The color is carried through with accent pillows and a chest of drawers painted in the same hue. Alessia grew up in Mayfield and where her parents still reside. Her brother and sister live in Chicago and she moved there to study nutrition at Dominican University. She returned to Cleveland six years ago and earned a Master’s in her field at Case Western Reserve University. She work for the Veterans Administration in their home care division. Her interests include reading, eating and traveling. When she is ready to take off on her next trip, she knows she can just turn the key and leave…
